Studio Seungjoon Song
Seoul, South Korea
Seungjoon Song is a multidisciplinary designer based in Seoul and deals with the process of capturing and portraying the interpretation of monochromatic colors as a result of three-dimensional objects.
Seungjoon Song captures the color of the calm earth which has always surrounded all things. Lacquer painting can be completed by a number of coatings and oxidation is formed by natural factors for long such as humidity and wind. Through these two methods of surface finishing, Song tries to convey the ‘time’ of the land that has been forming since the beginning of everything. The combination of the polished surface and the raw, abstract surface of the natural-finished oxidation forms a quiet change and contrast in red-brown monochromatic color, creating a unique object.
