Stem Design

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India
A tactile aspect exists within the works of Stem. Led by Aman Bhayana and Sugandhi Mehrotra; the duo’s sentiment lingers on everyday experience and questions the relationship between our values and objects we find beautiful. The studio’s work engages in creating a deeper connection with our surroundings. The objects, designed for a conscious consumer talk about the timelessness in design and material. We believe there is a moment of perfect balance between the two, when the object becomes a manifestation of an emotion or a culture.
MAAT 430
MAAT originates from the idea of bringing an earthy texture into our interior space. The table visualised as part of our home stands as a metaphor and reminds us to see beauty in the simplest things. Stripped of ornamentation, it stays bold and confident with its undulated cylindrical form. The imperfections in hand-made flutes, almost subtly reflect the movement of the potter's hand and build an innate connection between the maker and the end-user.
