The idea to set up a joint design studio was the outcome of a meeting in London in 2010. The building that houses our company is part of a late-18th century rural house, hence the initial idea to use the pseudonym casa1796 for our first projects undertaken together. We come from very different backgrounds of experience (Alessandro, a designer, and Carlotta, an architect), therefore our skills enable us to take a versatile approach to design issues, with constant interaction and plenty of input that lead to unique projects. Lately we started our research on local natural materials and fell in love with traditional ancient wools and related techniques of production.
