MESUT OZTURK
Paris, France
Paris based artist Mesut Öztürk was born in Krumovgrad, People’s Republic of Bulgaria in 1989. His family migrated to Turkey as part of the exodus during the dissolution of the regime. After studying architecture in Istanbul, he completed his master degree on “History, Theory, Criticism in Architecture” at Istanbul Bilgi University. He worked as an architect, later on he gave courses on architecture and ceramics in Istanbul Bilgi University while he was doing his PhD in urban studies. After quitting his studies, he focused on his ongoing form and structure experiments with clay. While he is experimenting structural possibilities and the limits of the material, he seeks to find ways to translate his contemplations about poetic places, timeless artifacts or the urban formationsinto ceramic sculptures. His practice also
covers installations and collectible design pieces.
